Associations and Memories

It intrigues me how minds work. Yesterday I found myself humming or singing the song What a Good Boy numerous times during the day. I thought nothing of it. Until suddenly it dawned on me that one short phrase in the lyrics perfectly described something I had experienced that day. I then made the connection that the phrase had crossed my mind in the middle of the incident (not as quoted song lyrics, but as an observation), which must have then led to the tune being stuck in my head.

Names can be that way too. Today on campus I saw a picture on a hallway wall that triggered a response.

"So, what line of work are you in Bob?"

“What line of work are you in Bob?”
