The National Acrobats of China

Several weeks ago I noticed that the National Acrobats of China were coming to University Park. It seemed like a show well worth seeing, so I got tickets. And thus, tonight Sarah and I went to the Eisenhower Auditorium to be entertained and amazed. We were not disappointed.

The show contained a variety of acts, much like the acrobatics and stunts that are in Cirque du Soleil productions. The costumes were bright, the music lively, and the performers first class. Wonder was no stranger at the Eisenhower Auditorium this evening.

Photography was prohibited, so I do not have any pictures from the night. Here is a video clip from another performance:

I loved the hats in that act.

Humans are capable of amazing acts of balance, precision, and strength. After seeing a show like this I feel uncoordinated and weak. It is fun to marvel. It is fun to be amazed.

If you get an opportunity to see the National Acrobats of China I recommend doing so. It’s a good show.
