Recently I was looking through some photos I took last year and I saw a picture that jumped out at me. It’s not a particularly good photo, the focus is not sharp at the point of interest and the composition is sloppy. But I still love it.
Right now I’m spending a lot of time studying and attempting to study because I have an important exam approaching. There is a heaviness that comes with this. When I saw this picture I imagined sitting in one of these chairs, carrying on a conversation with someone in the tranquility of the garden. One of my favorite written lines of all time comes from Thomas Gray’s Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard, and it applies to this situation. I would love to escape “Far from the madding crowd’s ignoble strife” and relax for just a moment. In due time; in due time.
