Accomplishment

It is hard to fully appreciate an accomplishment when it is done with ease. The easiness cheapens it. Facing difficulty lends character to a person or project. The source of the difficulty must be considered, however, for all too often it is self-imposed through poor management or judgment.

Shape Notes

I grew up seeing shape notes frequently. The Christian Hymnal at Upper Skippack Mennonite Church, also known as the black hymnal due to its dark cover, contained shapely notes. Yet I never learned to read shape notes. I’ve Been Pricing Golf Clubs

In the past I have stated that I treat golf like cocaine. I do not touch either of them for I fear they may be addicting. Against my better instincts I played golf this week. Sure enough, one afternoon on the golf course and I think I may be hooked.
