I’ve been wanting to get a compact point and shoot camera for the past couple of years. While I love my Nikon D40, it can be a bit unwieldy at times.
This week I noticed that several stores put the Nikon Coolpix S210 on sale. The more I looked at it, the more I liked it. I decided it was what I was looking for. Prices at Circuit City, BestBuy, and WalMart varied from $170-$190. Before purchasing it at Circuit City (they had the $170 price) I checked a few online sources. . . and I found BuyDig.com, which had a killer deal on the camera. For $147.99 I got the camera and a 2GB SD card. No tax; no shipping charge. Sweet.
I like that the camera is small enough to fit comfortably in a pocket. Here are a few of the specs: 8.0 MP, 3x Optical Zoom, Vibration Reduction, ISO 64-2000, Rechargeable Battery. Would I want it to be my primary camera? No. Is it a great option as a complimentary camera? Yes.
So just how big (or small) is this camera? Check it out:
As you can see in the picture, it is basically the size of a credit card. I always knew I would find a use for one of those stupid fake cards that American Express sends me every month. The camera is shorter than a regular sized Snickers bar. I added the guitar pick, bottle cap, dime, and button mushroom for dramatic effect.
